February 28, 2009

(The following have been deduced from Rammstein. This is another listening exercise.)

Hilf mir
Ich war, ganz allein zu Haus,
Die Eltern waren beide aus,
Das ei plotzlich vor mir stehen,
an zu sehen,
Eispreich wie schön und fein,
Das muss ein trefflich Spielzeug sein,
Ich sönder mir ein höltzen an,
Wieso oft die Mutter hat getan,

Help me
"I was entirely allone at home,
The parents were both out,
[noun] stood before me, (I couldn't figure out what that thing was that was standing in front of the kid; it probably has something to do with whatever caused the fire to begin with. The next line probably has something to do with it.)
(I didn't know what the first word was supposed to be, but I think he's saying he's great and fine.)
That must be a "fine" toy (I don't really know what trefflich is.)
(I believe he's using that object, but I can't really tell what those words are; I'm actually just not sure if they're the right ones.)
As often as mother has done,"

Immer wenn ich einsam bin,
Zieht es mich zum Feuer hin,
Warum ist die Sonne rund,
Warum wirklich nicht gesund,

"Whenever I am alone,
It takes me to the fire here,
Why is the sun round,
Why it is really not healthy,"

"It attacks me, I am not myself,
Jumps to me, with "Krallen" in the face, (another word I don't know.)
It bites me tight, much pain,
It jumps in to my shirt and hair (I could have sworn I heard ich and not es, but it didn't really make much sense.)
(I don't actually know if the first two words are right, but I think it's saying something like the flames are eating the clothes.)
'It burns far' (No idea about this either),
It burns the hand, it burns the hair,
I burn entirely,"

Immer wenn ich einsam bin,
Zieht es mich zum Feuer hin,
Warum ist die Sonne rund,
Warum wirklich nicht gesund,

"Whenever I am alone,
It takes me to the fire here,
Why the sun is round,
Why it is really not healthy,"

Das Feuer liebt mich!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht!

"The fire loves me!
Help me!
Help me!
The fire does not love me!
Help me!
Help me!
The fire does not love me!
Help me!
Help me!
The fire does not love me!
Help me!
Help me!
The fire does not love me!"

Ich bin verbrannt mit Haut und Haar,
Verbrannt ist alles, ganz und gar,
Aus der Asche, ganz allein,
Steig ich auf, zum Sonnenschein,

"I am burned, in the body and hair (I guessed what Haut is; I don't really know what it is.)
Everything is burned, entirely,
From the ashes, entirely alone,
I ascend, to the sunshine,"

Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich,

"The fire loves me" (repeat four times)

Ja,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich nicht,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Das Feuer liebt mich,
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!
Hilf mir!

"Yes,
The fire loves me,
The fire does not love me, (repeat those two lines a few times)
Help me!
Help me!
Help me!
Help me!"
